Yorkshire Cricket: Women and Girls

Yorkshire Cricket Board commissioned Shepherd Creative to produce a four-part documentary film series shining a light on the grassroots work being done to grow women and girls' cricket across the county.

We built relationships with four clubs: Old Leos, Millhouses, Sheffield Collegiate, and Colton. We spent time with the people at the heart of the game: young girls picking up a bat for the first time, newly qualified coaches finding their feet, and club executives who had quietly transformed their memberships. Each film captures a different stage of the journey, from early ambition to measurable impact.

Conceived as a digital-first series, every film was built for the platforms where cricket's next generation actually lives, optimised for social without losing the craft.

Four clubs. One goal. A sport changing from the inside out.

"Yorkshire Cricket Board gave us a clear brief and the freedom to do it justice. Four clubs, four films, one consistent thread — built from the ground up for digital and designed to actually reach people."
